The Journey of a Single Leaf
A leaf once green, in springtime’s grace,
Bore the sun upon its face.
It reached toward skies, so vast, so high,
Dancing with the breeze, it flew, it tried.
Through morning’s glow and twilight’s sigh,
It whispered secrets to the sky.
Each vein a river, winding, pure,
A tale of life, so soft, so sure.
The summer came with heat and light,
The leaf grew bold, a heart so bright.
It shimmered green, so full of cheer,
As days grew long and skies grew clear.
But seasons change, as all things must,
And autumn came with winds of trust.
The leaf began to feel the pull,
A quiet shift, a subtle lull.
It fluttered down, with colors bright,
From golden hues to amber light.
A graceful fall, a final flight,
It kissed the earth with soft delight.
And though it fell, it did not die,
For in the soil, it would lie.
A part of earth, a part of sky,
Its journey closed, but not goodbye.
For every leaf that fades and falls,
Returns to nature, answering calls.
In whispers soft, the earth will keep,
The memory of a single leaf.
This poem reflects the life cycle of a leaf, from growth to change and ultimately to its return to the earth, symbolizing cycles of change, renewal, and connection to nature. Would you like any adjustments or to explore another idea?
